Internet Search Tips
I was doing some searches on Google and I thought I would share some simple tips that a friend fortunately shared with me several years back.
The first step is to decide on the key words. They are the most important. No need to put extra words like the, of, how, etc. They are too common and really won't help your results. Try and think of a unique word or two that maybe in a potential article.
After I do a fast search without thinking too much, then take a look at the results. Many times you will find unexpected websites that relate to the words you typed in, but don't relate to what you are looking for at this time. Think about words you can remove or add to make your search results more focused on what you were looking for.
If you know a certain phrase or two words you want to look for, put quotes around the word or words to help find that particular phrase. For example, "wrestling shoes" if you were to type wrestling shoes, it would look for wrestling and shoes individually, but if you put "wrestling shoes" together it will look for that phrase.
Finally, after you completed a quick search, you can add + or - symbols in front of key words. So if you want to find adidas wrestling shoes. You might search for +"wrestling shoes" +"adidas" If there is something you want to exclude, say a particular brand you could put a - in front of the brand.
Just like anything else the more you practice the better you will get with searching and more importantly finding what you are looking for on the internet.
